D, fifth crowned portrait of Queen Elizabeth II to right, wearing the George IV State Diadem, with holographic image below and denomination as incuse micro-legend around the edge / ONE POUND, English rose, Welsh leek, Scottish thistle and Northern Irish shamrock emerging from one stem within royal coronet, with the minting year as incuse micro-legend around the rim. For prototype cf. KM 1378. 8.57gr, 23mm, 12h.

    Extremely Fine. Lustrous, extremely rare and exceptional. Apparently unique.

    Property of a Wiltshire, UK, collector.

    This One Pound coin of the new type (issued 2017) has been struck on a metal error blank, rather than on the bi-metallic flan that should have been used; such occurrences are extremely rare.
