A collection of three Boxer .450 brass cartridge cases, plus two lead bullet heads, fired from British Martini-Henry rifles during the battle between British forces and the main Zulu army. 82.3 grams total, 28-50 mm



Found by local Zulu people living at Khambula, South Africa, 1990s-early 2000s. Ian Wilkinson collection, Nottinghamshire, UK, formed since 1985.

The battle resulted in a heavy defeat for the Zulus, who had been full of confidence from their earlier victories against the British at Isandlwana and Hlobane.

Comprising two teardrop identification lamp casings, one unopened and its original box. 500 grams total, box: 10.4 cm high

Dark blue fabric knee-length overcoat with satin lining, black velvet stand-and-fall collar with hook-and-eye closure, twelve gilt buttons to the front with Kriegsmarine insignia and seven more to the false closure and half-belt on the rear, two lateral slit pockets with covers; shoulder-boards / epaulettes with insignia for Kapitän-Leutnante and the anchor-and-propellor motif for an engineer. 2.23 kg, 121 cm long

Recovered from a British dump, comprising a rare complete green glass wine bottle, a blue poison bottle, and a smaller clear-glass ink bottle. 945 grams total, 5.7-29.9 cm
