Parchment patent document made out to William Robert Lake, numbered 4561-75, for 'improvements in machinery for manufacturing cigars', with attached original patent seal of Queen Victoria housed in a metal discoid lidded container; the whole in a lined wooden box with hinged lid and locking mechanism, with the royal arms in gilt on the lid. 1.52 kg, 29 x 22.2 cm

In antiquity the phallic upper part would normally have have been covered by a separate bell-shaped casting of a grotesque figure wearing a waist-length hooded cape, probably inside a Gallo-Roman bronze statuette of the fertility god Priapus. -
