The Hoi An shipwreck is in the South China Sea off the coast of Vietnam. The ship was carrying a large cargo of Vietnamese ceramics dating from the mid- to late-15th century AD. -

Seated cross-legged in virasana on a lotus flower dais, right hand holding a conch and the left resting a mongoose, wearing a samghati adorned with floral motifs, his face with a meditative expression and with downcast eyes below arched eyebrows, aquiline nose, with curled ringlets forming the beard, elongated earlobes, tiered crown and diadem surmounted by a flame, with amethyst studs. 4.15 kg, 32 cm
