15th-16th century AD

A late medieval to Tudor gold signet ring with ellipsoid bezel, scrolled border top the field with reserved armorial shield bearing the arms 'a chevron between three woolpacks', a variant of the arms of the Woolsey family or possibly those of Tuthill; inscribed to the underside 'H H/O'. 14.61 grams, 23.90mm overall, 20.33mm internal diameter (approximate size British V, USA 10 1/2, Europe 23.77, Japan 22) (3/4"). Very fine condition. A large wearable size.

Property of a central London collector; acquired from a large private collection formed in the 1980s.
