VISIGOTHIC BRONZE BROOCH

5th-7th century AD. A radiate-headed bow brooch comprising a D-shaped headplate with seven radiating knops, a ribbed bow and triangular footplate with bird-head lappets and zoomorphic openwork to the sides; the surfaces of the head- and footplate decorated with geometric ring-and-dot motifs; the iron sprung pin and catchplate largely intact on the reverse. 11 grams, 57 mm.

Condition
Very fine condition.
