ROMAN STONE EPIGRAPHIC SEAL

Circa 1st-3rd century AD. A blue glass barrel-shaped pierced bead converted to use as a seal with one face ground flat, insribed with the retrograde text PAX / AVGC in seriffed capitals with the Greek letter theta above and below. Stone, 5.65 grams, 16.8 mm.

Condition
Very fine condition, the text clear and crisp.

Provenance
Ex Filk collection, collected in the 1950's.
