Roman Standard Finial

1st-2nd century AD

A bronze finial comprising a square-section spike and vine-lead plaque with two lateral holes, lateral wings, split socket and securing collar. 488 grams, 42.5cm (16 1/2"). Very fine condition. [No Reserve]

Provenance
From a private Netherlands collection; previously in an old collection since before 1980.
