VIKING SILVER THOR'S HAMMER NECKLACE
10TH-11TH CENTURY A.D.

A substantial silver necklace comprising: an openwork trichinopoly chain with D-section beast-head terminals each with granule and filigree detailing, pierced at the lower end to accept a round-section hoop; free-running Thor's hammer pendant with filigree ornament to the upper face. 24 1/4 in. (141 grams, 62 cm long). Very fine condition. [No Reserve]

PROVENANCE:
Private collection formed in Europe in the 1980s.
Westminster collection, central London, UK.
Accompanied by a positive metal analysis report by Ivor Goro, dated 29 March 2022.
This lot has been checked against the Interpol Database of stolen works of art and is accompanied by AIAD certificate no.11069-183094.
