Western Asiatic Seal with Recumbent Bull

1st millennium BC

A carved fine-grained basalt seal formed as a bull resting on a rectangular base, head facing the rear, incuse image of a profile figure between two trees beneath a star. 35.1 grams, 46mm (2"). Fine condition.

Provenance
From a private Belgian collection; previously part of a private collection formed in Germany in the 1990s.
