Egyptian Scarab in Silver Ring

Late Period, 664-332 BC

A white composition scaraboid with carapace to the upper face and animals climbing a tree beneath, set into a later silver U-shaped swivel ring, with round-section hoop tapering towards the terminals which end in 'discs' with flat inner and domed outer faces, silver coiled wire to the shoulders. 13.21 grams, 36.14mm overall, 19.50 x 19.19mm internal diameter (approximate size British Q1/2 , USA 8 1/4, Europe 18.12, Japan 17) (1 1/2"). Fine condition. A large wearable size.

Property of a London lady, part of her family's collection; acquired in the 1970s.
