ROMAN GOLD INTAGLIO RING WITH DOVE ON OLIVE BRANCH
2ND-4TH CENTURY AD
1" (6.21 grams, 26mm overall, 19.65mm internal diameter (approximate size British T, USA 9 3/4, Europe 21.76, Japan 21)).

A flat-section hoop with expanding shoulders, coiled filigree loops and ropework filigree borders, granule detailing; the bezel a filigree circlet to a cell enclosing a sard intaglio of a dove on an olive branch.

PROVENANCE:
Property of a Suffolk gentleman; acquired in the 1950s; thence by descent.
