Western Asiatic Luristan Animal Pendant

1st millennium BC

A bronze pendant in the form of a horned animal, possibly a goat, with upright tail, curved horns, collar and applied discoid eyes; suspension loop to the juncture of the neck and back; mounted on a custom-made stand. 32 grams, 64mm (2 1/2"). Fine condition; one leg absent. [No Reserve]

From a private collection formed in North America; acquired on the US art market in the early 1990s.
