Phoenician Limestone Head

Levantine, 6th-4th century BC

A carved limestone statuette head with incised brow line, slit mouth, aquiline nose, sockets possibly for insertion of separate eyes, headdress with banded fringe; mounted on a custom-made stand. 538 grams, 16cm (6 1/4"). Fine condition, usage wear.

Khosmaly collection, kept in the UK since 1984.
