Mughal Jade Tiger-Head Dagger Handle

18th-19th century AD

A carved jade grip from a kard dagger with tiger-head(?) finial, pricked ears and slightly open mouth exposing openwork fangs; attachment spike below. 161 grams, 12.2cm (4 3/4"). Fine condition.

Provenance
From the family collection of a Hampstead gentleman; formerly acquired in the 1980s.
