Egyptian Isis and Horus Statuette

Third Intermediate Period, 1069-702 BC

A bronze figurine of seated Isis, wearing a crown and uraeus, infant Horus on her lap with Sidelock of Youth; Isis's right hand on her breast preparing to suckle Horus; mounted on a custom-made stand. 160 grams total, 12cm including stand (4 3/4"). Fine condition. [No Reserve]

Provenance
Acquired for the ‘Buckingham Collection’ by the late Nik Douglas (1944-2012), renowned author, curator and Asian art expert; the collection formed from the early 1960s to early 1970s.
