Western Asiatic Horse Cheek-Piece Pair

Early 1st millennium BC

A matched pair of bronze bridle cheek-pieces, each a standing quadruped (ibex?) with ribbed crescent horns and head modelled in the half-round, pierced at the flank to accept the bit; mounted on a custom-made stand. 1.5 kg total, 25.5cm with stand (10"). Very fine condition.
