Roman Holy Land Terracotta Lamp with Head of Christ

4th-5th century AD

A squat terracotta oil lamp with basal ring and ring-and-dot motifs to the underside, piriform body with linear motifs to the shoulder, long nozzle, integral reflector with facing mask of possibly Christ, beaded band beneath nimbus, hair to the reverse. 67 grams, 94.5mm (3 3/4"). Fine condition.
