ISLAMIC GOLD AND TURQUOISE BIRD BRACELET

Circa 12th century AD or later. A medieval Islamic sheet-gold expanding bracelet formed as a c-shaped band with a hinged upper section; the band with terminals formed as an opposed pair of birds with turquoise details in cells (eyes, wings, tail).
PROVENANCE:
Property of a Middlesex Gentleman; acquired in the early 1980's.
