Anglo-Saxon Gilt Saucer Brooch

6th century AD

A gilt-bronze saucer brooch with flange to the rim, inner band of running scrolls around a pentagonal central panel; remains of catch and pin-lugs to the reverse. 11 grams, 26mm (1"). Fine condition.

Provenance
Property of a West Sussex, UK, gentleman; found by his grandfather in West Sussex in the early 1990s.
