Anglo-Saxon Gilt Pin Head with Chip-Carved Panels

7th-8th century AD

A gilt discoid pin head, the principal face ornamented with a chip-carved cross, trefoil knotwork in each quarter. 11.8 grams, 38mm (1 1/2"). Fine condition.

Provenance
Property of a Greater Manchester collector since the 1980s; thence by descent 1992.
