Georgian patch box formed from a 1797 cartwheel twopence coin with finely threaded obverse lid. (20.59 grams.). Very fine condition; few marks at edge.

FOOTNOTES:
The practice of making small 'patch' or similar boxes from coins was popular in the 18th-19th century period; the large size of the 1797 cartwheel twopence coins made them especially suited to such use.
