Roman Cosmetic Container with Figures and Animals

3rd-4th century AD

A bronze tubular container with conical topper, the topper with raised foliate decoration and chain, the container with lozengiform panels, the panels depicting various animals and other motifs including cupid, dog, snake, bird, hare, lizard and grape bunch. 17 grams, 14cm (5 1/2"). Fair condition, repaired. [No Reserve]

Provenance
Property of a Dutch gentleman; formerly in an old Dutch collection formed in the 1970s.
