A substantial blue glass amphoriskos with inverted ovoid body, broad shoulder, cylindrical neck and everted rim flanked by two applied handles and globular foot; decorated with concentric bands of geometric motifs in white and yellow glass; accompanied by a custom-made display stand.
PROVENANCE:
Property of a London businessman; acquired from Serodine Gallery, Ascona, Switzerland in 2011; ex South German private collection, since the 1960s; this lot has been checked against the Interpol Database of stolen works of art and is accompanied by AIAD certificate number no. 10434-170711.
