Western Asiatic Bowl with Hut Motif and Geometric Design

3rd millennium BC

A carved chlorite(?) bowl with waisted walls, flat rim and convex base, decorated with a motif comprising a circumferential frieze of geometric and abstract hut motifs. 663 grams, 10.9cm (4 1/4"). Fine condition.

Provenance
Property of a gentleman living in central London; acquired from a French gallery in 1982; thence by descent.
