Western Asiatic Amlash Rhyton with Animal Head Handle

1st millennium BC

A ceramic vessel with bulbous body and conical base, small aperture to the base, long neck with everted rim, the handle formed as an ibex head with applied eyes. 578 grams, 20cm (8"). Very fine condition.

Provenance
Property of a London gentleman; previously with a central London gallery; acquired in the 1960s.
